Winning Habits.
In the process of taking back control, I leaned on learning from a few years back, related to forming habits. It’s said that sixty-six days is the average amount of time required to form a new habit. This means it’s not neccessarily easy, but achievable. One of the lessons I recalled, when building a new habit, was ensuring you gave yourself the best chance to succeed. For starters, this meant finding the right environment. For me, this was OrangeTheory Fitness. The availability of coach-led classes, the gamification of the workouts, and the camaraderie, are all winning elements for me. There was something else needed to help me get on a winning path for this new habit. In fact, I created a supplemental habit of setting my workout clothes out the night before, so I had one less obstacle to prevent me from getting to a class. It worked.
From March to June 2022, I bounced around different times of day attending two classes each week, on average. In June, I upgraded my membership and began attending morning classes 3-5 days each week. The results are what I refer to as making #mebetter. I have lost weight (over 25 lbs.), burned nearly 150K calories, rowed ninety miles, and completed an indoor triathlon called Dri-Tri.
While this is a very important success story for me, the lesson I want you to take from this is about the possibilities for you in Federal Contracting.
How can you use a similar approach to help you and your team develop winning habits? Think about how you can establish recurring actions to:
• connect with customers,
• identify opportunities,
• create visibility for your brand and offerings, and
• reach out to potential partners.
Consistent persistence fueled by tactics, tools and resources, like the ones we present during our Ethical Stalking for Government Contractors® Bootcamp, will take you far as you move towards achievement of your goals and objectives.
Peace, Health, and Success,
